Haldiram’s Nagpur Goes Live with SIG India for its long Shelf-life Ethnic Beverages

Haldiram's, the Indian ethnic snack food giant, in Nagpur has been on the growing direction, and has recently opened its own manufacturing plant for longer shelf-life dairy products. The company is constructing a huge dairy plant, that will be investing more than the amount of Rs. 100 crores Haldiram's Nagpur is looking to expand its operations beyond the existing marketplaces which include Maharashtra, Goa and Chhatisgarh.

SIG is a leading system and solutions provider for aseptic packaging, has been selected by Haldiram's for helping to broaden its product offerings using SIG's innovative filling equipment for aseptic cartons. The first time Haldiram's Nagpur has made an investment in the manufacturing facility it has facility for filling the products into aseptic cartons. SIG supplies the company with a high-speed CFA 1224 filling equipment for combiblocXSlim cartons from SIG. SIG's filling technology provides excellent flexibility, with several volume options which makes it a great option for Haldiram's. Additionally, SIG's high-speed filling machine that can fill 24,000 cartons per hour, is able to provide enough capacity for Haldiram's business to expand and grow in the future.

In announcing the partnership, Sushil Agarwal, Director at Haldiram's Nagpur stated: "SIG offered us state-of-the-art technology that allows us to choose from 9 sizes of volume with one filling machine which is all high-speed. This provides us with a wide range of options to package various items in an array of different sizes and formats. Furthermore, sleek and elegant cartons are stylish and are noticeable on the shelf."

From co-packaging their products through contract manufacturing Haldiram's Nagpur are now looking to launch an even greater variety of non-dairy and dairy products as well as ethnic products, drawing on its retail networks along with distribution capacities.

The offerings include buttermilk with the name Matka Jhatka which is available in 200 milliliter combiblocXSlim cartons, along alongside Aam Panna, Jal Jeera as well as a selection variety of Lassi products. Numerous other innovations are in the process of being developed.
